Beer, brewing and pubs support nearly 900,000 jobs and contribute £22.9bn to the economy annually. I have therefore taken the CAMRA pledge to: 🍺 Celebrate and promote great beer. 🍺 Support action to help pubs thrive. 🍺 Represent the interest of pub-goers, beer and cider drinkers if elected into the next Parliament.

💷💷 Labour’s Real Living Wage will give workers who earn the national minimum wage at least £9,000 more by 2024 than the Tories. Coupled with Labour’s pledge to not raise income tax or national insurance contributions for the bottom 95% of earners, this means a worker on the minimum wage will be at least £6,000 better off after tax. Analysis of latest ONS figures on earnings also shows that Labour’s pledge to immediately introduce a £10 an hour Real Living Wage for all workers over 16 will give approximately 7.5 million people a pay rise, including over 1.2 million young people. The analysis also shows that Labour’s Real Living Wage disproportionately benefits workers outside London and the Southeast, with around a third of workers in the majority of regions and nations benefiting. Workers who currently earn a minimum wage job would get an immediate pay rise of between £3,444 and £5,986: · 16-18 year olds will get an average pay rise of £3,497 · 18-20 year olds will get an average pay rise of £5,986 · 21-24 year olds will get an average pay rise of £4,485 · Workers 25 and over will get an average pay rise of £3,444 The current minimum wage for people 25 and over is £8.21 while for 16-17 year olds it's £4.35. With the Tories residing over the worst decade for wages since the Victorian era and in-work poverty soaring, Labour will give millions of low paid workers the pay rise they deserve.

Huge thanks to the squads of activists and volunteers who came out and hit the streets today, not all made the photos sadly. We are blessed with a growing number of troops and we’re only just getting started...you ain’t seen nothing yet!🌹✊️

I have today asked for some urgent intervention from Northampton Borough Council on the derelict building on Vicarage Road / Baring Road in Spencer Ward. This site has been given planning permission for housing, yet some legal agreements are outstanding, causing delays in work starting...which should now be well under way. Because of this, the land is not being maintained or secured. The security fencing was actually stolen a few weeks ago and its now an absolute hot-spot for rubbish. See the attached photos. So I have asked for urgent action on this. Residents living around that site deserve better than looking at this mess every day. Gareth.

Today I have heard the most harrowing personal story of a WASPI woman in Northampton South. Financially devastated by the pension inequality. If elected on 12th Dec I will fight for nothing less than full restoration of the pension money essentially stolen from such women. I hope the Labour manifesto commits to this too.

Labour vow to save free TV licences for the over-75s if they win the election Millions of pensioners face being stripped of the vital lifeline from June after the Conservatives axed a 2017 manifesto commitment. Four in 10 older people say the TV is their main source of company, but from next year 3.7 million older people will lose their free TV licence. It’s disgraceful. Our message is clear - vote Labour to save free TV licences.
