📺 WATCH: This morning I was interviewed on Sophy Ridge on Sunday about the Tory Leadership contest. Here’s why I think Boris Johnson is thoroughly unsuitable to be our Prime Minister. To be fair, there’s not much of a choice between him and Jeremy Hunt. The man who broke the NHS vs the man who’d happily sell it to Donald Trump.
Whether our next Prime Minister is Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt one thing is clear - they won’t deliver what’s best for our country. We need a General Election now.

Either Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt will become the next Tory leader and Prime Minister, with no mandate to lead our country. We don’t need another shambolic Tory Government, we need a general election now.

The Prime Minister claimed that action on Grenfell would be part of her legacy, but in two long years, too little has changed.
It’s been more than two years since the tragic Grenfell tower fire. But the government has done too little to make sure this never happens again. Make sure people know the facts.
Boris Johnson says one thing and does another. He said leadership debates were “essential”, but yesterday he dodged the first TV debate and today he hasn’t showed up to media hustings. You can’t trust a word he says. What’s he got to hide?

Another candidate has dropped out of the race. Who will be our next Prime Minister now? Sorry, you STILL won’t get to decide!
Everyone must watch this.
Today marks two years since the fire which claimed the lives of 72 people at Grenfell Tower. Grenfell Tower remains a tragic monument to the lives that were lost on the night of 14 June 2017, and to a system which failed to house people safely. I will never forget visiting the devastating scene the next morning and meeting the survivors and loved ones of those who died. And I asked myself: how could this happen in the richest borough in one of the richest cities on earth? But I was struck by the response of the emergency services and the community - those who opened their doors to provide shelter, clothing and food to people left with nothing. Today, two years on, the survivors, the families of those who died and the community await justice. And there are still survivors waiting to be housed, while thousands of homes in the area sit empty. The government has made almost no progress on removing the flammable cladding on 164 privately-owned tower blocks across the country. The owners of blocks that retain dangerous cladding must be named and shamed, and fines should be imposed on those who don’t act. If tower block landlords continue to endanger residents, the next Labour government will confiscate their buildings. We will not stand by while working class people are forced to live in fear for their lives in their own homes. Grenfell remains a symbol of a failed housing system and the grotesque inequality in modern Britain. We recommit to creating a housing system and a society where such a tragedy can never happen again. This must be the enduring legacy of Grenfell.
Three down, seven left in the race. Who will be our next Prime Minister? Sorry, you don’t get to decide!
